Pag Island presenting outdoor tourism
Pag Outdoor project in these, especially difficult times for tourism, not only experiences new qualitative strides but also offers the entire island of Pag, which connects two counties, Lika-Senj and Zadar and five island tourist boards, to a much higher level.
Namely, Pag Outdoor project connects four standard activities (bike, trail, climbing, kayaking), but since it positions them in an absolutely unique environment of Pag nature, they become one of the development moments where the tourism of this island of interesting shape will develop in several directions.
In time, it will extend the calendar season to at least eight months, just as it will at the same time give additional content impulses to the development of a number of activities on the island, especially those related to hospitality, gastronomy and specific agriculture. The success of the Pag Outdoor project is the result of the joint association of the island tourist boards of the Novalja Tourist Board, the Pag Tourist Board, the Kolan Tourist Board, the Povljana Tourist Board and the Stara Novalja Tourist Board on the development of the project.
This was followed by the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, which provided HRK 150,000.00 for the implementation of the project. The funds were, of course, a welcome “wind in the back” to enrich the spring activities and the introduction of Bike standards before the start of the season.
The approved funds also enabled the graphic design of the logo for each individual segment of the outdoor, which was necessary for the continuation of the promotion and branding of the Pag outdoor project. In addition to the specific colours that will be associated with the activities, there is a common and strong emphasis on the togetherness of the islands within the project.
In this way, Pag joins the best Croatian environments in which outdoor gives very good results. Along with Istria, which has a very important role, almost all Kvarner islands have excellent outdoor programs – above all Krk, but also Cres, Rab or Brač in Dalmatia.
