Speedboat line Lastovo-Korcula-Dubrovnik starts on May 24
The Coastal Shipping Agency announced on Wednesday that the state high-speed line number 9808 on the route Lastovo – Korcula – Dubrovnik will finally start on Monday, May 24, instead of the 15th, as previously announced.
The line will be temporarily maintained by the fast ship “Anastasia” by the TP line shipowner selected as the most favourable bidder in the public procurement procedure. The line will be maintained until it is taken over by the shipowner who will be also selected in the open public procurement procedure. This process is currently suspended due to an appeal.
Thus, all the necessary technical and operational conditions for the maintenance of the line will be met by May 24. But only a few days before, on Saturday, May 8, the same Agency sent a statement according to which this high-speed line starts on May 15, which means that without a specific explanation, the start of the line was postponed for nine days.
You can check the sailing schedule of the new line here, noting again that the first day of departure of the ship should be moved to May 24 to the place of May 15.
Small cruisers soon in Pag Bay
As Radiopag.hr reports, the Mayor of the City of Pag, Ante Fabijanić, participated in a meeting in Zadar with representatives of the shipping company Scenic Group and the County Port Authority. The topic of the meeting was creating conditions for the arrival of smaller cruisers in Pag Bay. These are smaller Scenic Group cruisers with a capacity of 150 to 200 passengers, which the company calls “villas on the sea” on its official website.
The cruisers will arrive from April 1 to November 30. The condition for the arrival of cruisers in Pag Bay is the determination of anchorages for such ships.
At the meeting, the representative of the shipping company expressed great interest in regular visits of their ships to Pag, meaning to enter Pag Bay and it is up to us to do everything as soon as possible to enable them. The arrival of these ships is important for Pag, tourism, the economy, in general, These boats start arriving long before the start of the season and after the season, which means that Pag would have guests almost all year round. They would tour the city with a guide, use the services of restaurants, cafes, shops and a tour of the Pag Lace Gallery, the Permanent Solar Exhibition and everything else. Talks about the arrival of these ships in Pag Bay began a year ago, but the talks were stopped due to the pandemic and I am glad they have continued now.
