Cres island to get golf course, new infrastructure on islands Pasman and Korcula
A golf course project on Cres island has been in the works for several years. The goal is to build the golf field, along with other tourist facilities, on the area of about 324 Ha. The plan is to build 2 fields with 18 holes each, along with 2 hotels, 10 villas in zones A and B, a service building and all accompanying infrastructure. One of the hotels would have an area of about 8220 square meters with 122 rooms. The other one would have 3357 square meters and 57 rooms. Both hotels would have an outside and inside pools. Villas would have 92 and 80 beds, in zones A and B, respectively. Another idea is to build a three-store winery and a building which would contain devices for filtering waste waters. Water supply would be handled by public infrastructure, while golf courses would use the water from the accumulation lake, which would also be built for the purpose of the project.
Another project is taking place on Korcula island, where Puntin pier in Korcula town is being reconstructed. The project is worth about 1.5 million euros, 85 percent of which is financed by the European Union Funds. The work which will be done include improvements of the foundations, strengthening and connecting of the pier construction, as well as other works which will permanently protect the pier from the outside impacts. This way, the Korcula port will ensure more safety for ferries connecting the island to the mainland and other islands nearby.
Also in the plans is the work on the building of the marina on Pasman island. The marina will be intended primarily for nautical tourism on the island. Whoever gets the opportunity to build the marina and its infrastructure also must insure services of boat binds, tourist facilities and similar. Total area for the marina is estimated to be 65 thousand square meters. The value of the project is about 25 million euros.
