Hvar island – HEP project to provide power worth HRK 17 million

To improve the voltage and reliability of power supply in the eastern part of the island of Hvar, these days a 35-kilovolt submarine cable Podgora – Pogorila has been laid, on a stretch of 12 kilometers.

By the end of the year, this “line” will be interpolated into the existing network on 10-kilovolt voltage and will supply the Bogomolje substation, which has yet to be built. The value of the cable laying project is around HRK 17 million and an additional HRK 15 million will be invested in the substation. A contract for the purchase and sale of land has been concluded for her and project documentation is being prepared.

In the history of “Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP) it will be noted that the very demanding laying of the mentioned submarine cable on such a long section was done exclusively for the first time “on its own”. By the way, their investments in the distribution network on our shocks in 2020 amount to about 100 million kuna, of which more than 50 million kuna on the Dalmatian islands. Thus, a total of HRK 31 million will be invested in the islands in the Split-Dalmatia and Dubrovnik-Neretva counties this year alone.

When it comes to Hvar, for example, the focus was on improving the reliability of the network of existing consumers and creating conditions in the network for the needs of connecting new consumers. That is why the substations in Stari Grad and Hvar were reconstructed, which increased their installed capacity and the project was worth 7.3 million kuna.

A cable between Sucuraj and Mlaska has been laid on the medium voltage network, which enables two-sided supply of Gdinj, Zastražišće and Bogomolje. Two million kunas have been invested. The quality of Vrboska’s power supply will improve, in which interruptions caused by salt were present.

The construction of a switchyard in Jelsa and a substation in the summer cinema is in progress. The value of these interventions is two million kuna, and since the equipment has already been delivered, the works are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

New substations have been built in Hvar, in the areas of Glavica and Gojava, in Malo Grablje and in Rudine. By the end of the year the construction of a substation in Sveta Nedjelja, Bogomoljski Selci and Sućuraj (Zabrig) is planned. The estimated value of these facilities is around two million kuna.

For the next, but still undefined period, electrification of the southern and northern bays in the eastern part of the skoja is planned. For some locations, building permits have already been obtained, while for others, documentation is being prepared.

That is why the owners of houses and properties in Mala Stiniva hope that after the road is broken and the water supply system is installed, the connection cable and substation are installed, they will soon be able to connect to the electricity network and use the Internet.
