Jadrolinija introduces new ferries and services
Jadrolinija introduces a new ferry, “Lošinj“, with a capacity of 600 passengers and 140 vehicles, as an addition to its fleet.
The ferry is the 54th ship and the first passengers will be transported on the line Lopar – Valbiska, under the command of Captain Nin Matić. The first voyage of “Lošinj” was solemnly marked by passing through the port of Rijeka and greeting the citizens and the headquarters of Jadrolinija.
The new ship is 97.85 meters long and 16 meters wide, it can reach a speed of 13 knots. The ship is adapted to the sailing conditions on numerous lines that Jadrolinija maintains on the Adriatic.
By choosing the name of that ship, Jadrolinija’s previous practice of naming ships after Croatian islands continues.
On the occasion of the first sailing of the ferry “Lošinj”, the President of the Management Board of Jadrolinija David Sopta said that the development of the fleet is the most important point of strategic development of Jadrolinija in the last four years and that it is the fourth ship to join the fleet.
Jadrolinija is introducing an island card control system
Another novelty introduced by Jadrolinija is more efficient control of the use of preferential transport rights to islands.
In order to control the use of privileged rights related to users of island cards more efficiently, a restriction was introduced on the possibility of purchasing more privileged tickets with one island card on the same trip.
This control measure has been introduced on all Jadrolinija sales channels, including points of sale, mobile application, website and manual ticket readers for direct boarding.
This way, the system will prevent the users of island ID cards from using their privileged right to several different sales channels more than once for a certain trip, Jadrolinija reports.
The start of sailing on the line Dubrovnik – Bari postponed
At the same time, due to the current situation related to the coronavirus pandemic, the start of navigation on the international line Dubrovnik – Bari has been postponed for May 28, 2021, Jadrolinija announced.
Passengers with a purchased ticket for cancelled trips will receive a refund.
