Latest updates on Croatian ferry and catamaran lines for October
The end of the season is approaching, so the shipping companies are slowly switching to winter sailing schedules. However, the tourist season exceeded everyones’ expectations, so not all ferry and catamaran lines will reduce their departures.
Additional fast ferry lines from Split to Hvar in October
Although autumn has officially started, the tourist season is far from slowing down, at least when it comes to destinations like Split and Hvar.
Therefore, the Croatian national shipping company Jadrolinija provided additional voyages on the high-speed line 9604S Split – Hvar in the period from October 4 to October 10 – departing from Split at 11:30 and from 14:00 from Hvar.
On the other hand, the Dubrovnik – Bary ferry line will be cancelled from mid-October. Jadrolinija has announced a change in the sailing schedule in the period from 15 to 30 October for the ferry line with Italy.
Due to the situation related to the coronavirus epidemic, travel on the international line Dubrovnik – Bari is cancelled, departing on Friday from Dubrovnik and on Saturday from Bari in the period from 15 to 30 October 2021. passengers with purchased tickets will get a refund for cancelled trips.
New fast ferry on the route Dubrovnik-Šipan-Mljet-Lastovo
The catamaran Nona Ana, which sailed for many years on the line Dubrovnik – Luka Šipanska – Sobra (Mljet) – Polače (Mljet) – Korčula – Ubli (Lastovo), received a modern successor today.
A new fast catamaran Majestic 9 called Aenona sailed into the Port of Gruž. It is a ship built in 2016, 33 meters long and with a capacity of 200 passengers, and now owned by Tankerska Plovidba.
Member of the Management Board of Tankerska Plovidba, Marko Matković, explained to Dubrovački Dnevnik that they decided on this move to replace Nona Ana with a newer ship in order to contribute to the realization of their strategy to have a modern and more environmentally friendly fleet, all with the aim of providing the highest quality transport services.
