Marco Polo arrived in Zadar for the festive celebration of Jadrolinija’s 75th birthday
ZADAR – The national liner company, Rijeka Jadrolinija, is celebrating its 75th anniversary tonight in Zadar.
Since 1947, a total of 185 ships have passed through the white fleet, while Jadrolinija currently sails with 53 ships – ten catamarans, four-passenger ships, and 36 ferries in national and three in international navigation.
Compared to last year, passenger traffic was higher by about 14 and a half percent, and vehicles by 9.3%. The most significant traffic was towards islands Brač, Krk and Cres.
Tonight’s ceremony will be held on the Marko Polo ship, which will be moored next to the Greeting to the Sun, while the Maritime Evening from port of Zadar will be broadcasted live from the ship.
– The celebratory year of 2022 brings us additional strength and encouragement with which Jadrolinija sails optimistically and decisively towards the future. We strive for excellence in all areas of our operations – renewal of the fleet with more modern vessels, investments in green energy, increasing business efficiency through digitization and increasing the satisfaction of our passengers through the development of service quality. We have 75 years of experience and tradition on our side, with which we can optimistically and decisively sail towards the future – said David Sopta, President of the Jadrolinija Management Board, on the occasion of the big 75th anniversary.
