New ferry line Lastovo – Korcula – Dubrovnik coming soon
The main responsible institution for ferry and catamaran lines in Croatia is called Agencija za obalni linijski pomorski promet (Agency for Coastal Traffic). Recently, they published a public competition for managing a new state fast ferry line Number 9808 Lastovo – Korcula – Dubrovnik, and vice versa. Competition is to choose an embroider who will operate the said route. Notice about the competition was published September 21st in the Electronic Ad, section Public Procurement.
All the embroiders have to deliver their offers by October 26th 2020. Offers are delivered online, while the results will be announced on November 27th 2020. This new route will be the second one connecting Dubrovnik with Korcula Island and Lastovo, since currently these destinations are connected with line No. 9807.
In other news by the Agency for Coastal Traffic, all residents of Croatian Islands are able to pick up their island ID. The identification card gives the residents a discount when travelling to and from the islands. Each citizen gets his / her own card which cannot be given to a third party. When buying ferry tickets, locals need to show the ID card to either crew on the boat or in the ticket sales points. They should also have the ID card with them during the duration of the trip. Misuse of the ID card can result in card deactivation or cancellation.
