The Port Authority of Šibenik-Knin County is implementing a project worth 24,072,345 KN
In the past two months, the preparatory works of the organization of the construction site for the beginning of construction of a new ferry pier in Kaprije port have been intensified. A contract was signed with the contractor community of bidders Aqua Mont Service d.o.o. Belgrade and Aqua Mont Service d.o.o. Split, the contractor was introduced to the work and handed over the construction site. The beginning of earthworks and introduction of heavy machinery on Kaprije is expected at the beginning of next year. Total cost of construction works is HRK 22,063,008.80, and the deadline for completion is one year. A new ferry pier 55 m long and 6.0 m wide, with a manipulative plateau of 2,300 m2 is being built as part of the project ‘Construction of a ferry pier in the port of Kaprije’ implemented by the Port Authority of Šibenik-Knin County.
Even though the completion of the works on the construction was announced for June this year at the initial conference of the project, the procedure of public procurement and selection of contractors was unexpectedly delayed. It was only at the fifth public invitation that the construction work was entrusted to the community of bidders Aqua Mont Service d.o.o. Belgrade and Aqua Mont Service d.o.o. for services, Split.
The ferry pier in Kaprije will be built on a location 700 m outside the city center to provide depth of at least 5.0 m along the pier, which would allow the use of deeper draft ferries, more stable and resistant to weather, which would significantly reduce the number of canceled lines to the Zirje island. The construction of a ferry port outside the town center will reduce both traffic congestion and congestion in the port area and town center. At the same time, the noise level in the town center will be reduced and the quiet pedestrian zone within which are beaches, catering, cultural and other facilities is maintained.
The project ‘Construction of a ferry pier in the port of Kaprije’ was co-financed by the European Union Cohesion Fund, and is implemented by the Port Authority of Šibenik-Knin County. The total cost of the project is HRK 24,072,345.21. The total duration of the project is 42 months.
