Newly purchased ferry Otok Pašman by Jadrolinija included in regular traffic
After its joining the fleet was announced in June this year, on August 17, the newly purchased Jadrolinija ferry Otok Pašman took over the ferry line Biograd – Tkon.
The tour of the ferry Otok Pašman, whose sailing started from Biograd na Moru at 12:30 pm, was attended by the State Secretary for the Sea Josip Bilaver, Director of the Agency for Coastal and Maritime Transport Paula Vidović, President of Jadrolinija David Sopta, Board member Goran Frković and representatives of Zadar County and the Municipality of Tkon.
Jadrolinija reminds that the ferry Otok Pašman is a former ferry of Rapska Plovidba called Sveti Kristofor and was built in the shipyard Viktor Lenac in 2003. Passenger RO-RO ship Otok Pašman is 42 meters long and 15.3 meters wide, with a capacity of 250 passengers and 35 vehicles.
The inclusion of the ferry Otok Pašman on the line Biograd – Tkon replaces the ferry Prizna which has served many passengers for years. After the ferry Ugljan, which joined the Jadrolinija fleet in August 2020, this is the second newly purchased ferry intended for the Zadar navigable area. Changing the ship on this line will also affect the crew, as Otok Pašman provides better quality accommodation that makes staying and living onboard more comfortable.
David Sopta says that Jadrolinija’s fleet is the key to a successful business, the progress of the entire company and the improvement of the quality of service. He adds they are investing systematically in the renewal of the fleet, and the ferry Otok Pašman is a continuation of this process. The connection with the island of Pašman is very important for the entire Zadar area, both because of the tourist importance of this island and because of the strong connection of its inhabitants with the mainland throughout the year. Therefore, they believe that passengers will be pleased to welcome this ferry whose capacity and maritime capabilities bring significant progress in terms of quality of service and navigation in different weather conditions. Sopta wishes the crew of the ship a calm sea, and the passengers a pleasant voyage.
