October tourism numbers for islands Brac, Korcula and Krk
COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the postseason in Croatia, especially on the islands. Tourist boards of Brac island have published official data for October 2020. Supetar town had 9 percent of arrivals and 10 percent of overnight stays, when compared to 2019. Bol town had even worse results, with 3 percent of arrivals and 6 percent of stays. The whole Split-Dalmatia county had modest results. In total, there were 17.760 arrivals in October. In the same period of 2019, there were 192.422 arrivals. Milna town on Brac recorded only 27 arrivals, 23 of which were foreigners. Supetar was at 89 arrivals, and Bol town recorded 165.
As for Korcula island, October saw 12 percent of overnight stays compared to 2019. Private accommodation recorded 30.953 stays, which is 20 percent of 2019, hotels recorded 25.034 stays, which is 6 percent of 2019. In the first 10 months of this year, there was a decrease of 68 percent of stays compared to the same period in 2019. Majority of guests came from Poland, Germany, Slovenia, BiH, Czech Republic, the UK and France.
Krk island had 5.828 arrivals and 26.967 overnight stays in October, which is a decrease of 80 percent and 78 percent, respectively. Majority of the guests were foreigners (67 percent). Camp sites had the most visitors, followed by hotels, private accommodation and other units. Out of all towns on Krk Island, most arrivals were recorded in Krk Town, followed by Malinska and Omisalj. Guests from Germany were most represented (54 percent), followed by Croatians, Slovenians, Austrians, BiH, Italians and so on. In the first 10 months of this year, domestic guests spent an average of 4.3 days on the island, while all tourists spent an average of 6 days.
