Rapska Plovidba records excellent season, Jadrolinija extends Dubrovnik – Split line
The outstanding tourist traffic surprised everyone, including the shipowners. One of them is Rapska Plovidba, whose ferries were constantly in full operation throughout July and August.
Many report that the season was above expectations, reaching the successful 2019 as far as July and August are concerned.
On the route Mišnjak – Stinica and vice versa, three ferries of this carrier alternated. Vinko Jakša, commander of the ferry Četiri Zvonika says they procured the new ferry in 2018 with a capacity of 100 vehicles along with Barbat ferry which has a capacity of 60 vehicles and Sveti Marin of 40 vehicles. That’s a total of 200 vehicles which helped to reduce the crowds.
With only Četiri Zvonika, the largest ferry of this carrier, there were 1,400 cars transported in one direction on the best day, as opposed to the average of about 500.
This ferry is one of the reasons why, after the new port in the port of Mišnjak, the realization of the same project in the port of Stinica is eagerly awaited in Rapska Plovidba.
The project of a new ramp in Stinica Bay will undoubtedly contribute to increasing the quality of maritime transport, and HRK 18.9 million in grants from European funds have already been secured for it.
