Reconstruction of the port on Kolocep will be completed before the deadline

Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković, Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković and Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić visited the works on the reconstruction of the port in Donji Čelo on Koločep island on Thursday.

On that occasion, Minister Oleg Butković emphasized that the reconstruction of the port on Koločep is one of the eight EU projects for the reconstruction of the port in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and that it is developing very well.

Butković added that he is satisfied and that according to the data from the contractor, the works could be completed before the scheduled deadline, which is December 15 this year.

The value of the project Reconstruction of the port for public transport in the settlement of Donje Čelo – island Koločep is about 30 million kuna and most of it, in the amount of 85% of the total price, is financed from the European Cohesion Fund and the remaining 15% is provided by the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.

On this occasion, Mayor Mato Franković thanked the County Port Authority, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the relevant Ministry for investing in port infrastructure, which, as he said, will raise the quality of life of the Elaphite Islands.

He also mentioned that special work is being done on the construction of a water supply and sewerage network on the islands. He also says they started the same on Lopud and soon will start on Šipan Island. On Kalamota, they will first agree on the route with the locals and then after changing the project they will start further preparation for the construction of the water supply and sewerage network.

Prior to the visit, a meeting was held to discuss projects in the City and County, including the possibility of financing the Tamarić road in Mokošica near Dubrovnik.

The City of Dubrovnik has already obtained a building permit for this road and its construction and connection with the unclassified road Lozica-Mokošica-Komolac-Sustjepan will greatly relieve traffic on Bartol Kašić Street in Mokošica, as well as facilitate access to schools and kindergartens.
