Renovations and reconstructions of ferry ports along the Croatian coast in process
During the last years, ferry ports are being renovated along the Croatian coast. Winter is always a good time to modernize the infrastructure and upgrade the tourist offer. Current renovations are mostly taking place in the area of Rijeka and Kvarner.
A large project for reconstruction Rijeka port is underway
The Port of Rijeka Authority has been approved non-refundable financing for the preparation of project documentation for the reconstruction of Prag pier, in the amount of 1.8 million euros.
The renovation will include the construction of a new port area in the Rijeka basin and the separation of the port warehouse complex, the so-called Metropolis, from the port area and their conversion for public and business purposes, with the Port Authority handing over the area to the City of Rijeka.
The total estimated value of the project documentation is EUR 3.6 million, half of which is provided by grants from the Connecting Europe Facility.
The plan is to construct transport infrastructure, as part of the already existing project of building a road that will connect the container terminal on the Zagreb coast and the D-403 road with the Rijeka port basin. Also, the plan is to construct a pedestrian bridge from Krešimirova to Metropolis, over the railway tracks.
With the project of building a new operational shore in the port of Rijeka at Prague pier, on the sea between Visinovo pier and Bratislava shore, the port of Rijeka will get approximately 50 000 m2 of a new multi-purpose terminal.
Reconstruction of Malinska port continues
Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Prefect Zlatko Komadina met with the Mayor of Malinska-Dubašnica Robert Anton Kraljić on the topic of development projects of the Municipality, which is among the 10 most developed in Croatia. They talked about the development of the Port of Malinska, namely, the reconstruction of the coastal wall and the arrangement of the promenade along the coast.
These investments are worth over HRK 4 million and are co-financed by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Municipality and the Krk County Port Authority.
The plan is to continue arranging the breakwater and protecting the port of Malinska. It will achieve better protection of the port area from the influence of the sea and wind, as well as increase the number of berths.
The Mayor of Malinska, Anton Kraljić, pointed out that works are underway on the Maritime Center. It is an investment worth HRK 11 million.
How is the construction of the port of Kaprije progressing?
The construction of the port on the island of Kaprije is in full swing. Although the latest sight can hint that not much has moved from the starting point, the works are still progressing.
The Port Authority of Šibenik-Knin County thanks to the residents of Kaprije for the good cooperation, patience and understanding the benefits that the new pier brings are many times greater than the possible current inconveniences.
