My tips for traveling with car ferry from Split to Vela Luka on Island Korcula
- Be at the port at least 1 hour prior to the departure, especially in summer Split ferry port is very busy and it can take some time to navigate to the right waiting spot.
- Bring food and drinks, (Usually we have a cooling box in the car with sandwiched and drinks), you can buy also onboard, but I find it quite expensive.
- If you travel with kids, bring games and other entertainment stuff, 4 hours is a long time on a ferry.
- If the departure is busy, i recommend that at least one or two from your group, has a separate ticket, so that they can board as food passengers and secure seating.
- On my last trip is went with the ferry Bartol Kašić, this ferry has plenty of inside and outside seating, but the best seats outside are very popular. (See photo above, ferry was not to full when i sailed)
