Tourist results in Hvar and Krk close to the results from 2019
According to the eVisitor system, in the last two weeks, the town of Hvar has broken tourist records, and the numbers of arrivals and overnight stays from August 1 – August 10 are 5% better than the record 2019. Nautics records as much as 15% better results compared to 2019.
Unfortunately, looking only at the system, in the town of Hvar on August 12 there were “only” 7183 registered guests on 12059 registered beds. According to that, we could have said that the tourist season in Hvar is “catastrophic”.
But to move away from the numbers, last week tourists rushed to book the free hotel or private accommodation in Hvar town. This tells us that a lot of last-minute rooms are wanted. Therefore, we can say with satisfaction that Hvar was filled for the next week and even Booking.com declared Hvar town as SOLD OUT.
If we go back to the numbers, in July Hvar town realized 143530 overnight stays and 30032 arrivals, which is an increase of 150% in overnight stays and 100% in arrivals compared to 2020. Compared to 2019, 77% of tourist traffic was realized.
Americans, Germans, French and Slovenes are visiting the most, while the number of arrivals of the UK guests is expected to increase by the beginning of September.
According to Petar Razović, director of the Hvar Tourist Board, we achieved these results primarily through excellent cooperation between the tourist staff of the Hvar town and the Hvar Tourist Board, adherence to epidemiological measures, as well as jointly well-done marketing activities of all Hvar tourist boards.
Looking at the preparations done this year, bus also last year, and everything that has been done successfully for tourism and what should be done for the tourism development of the whole island, Hvar residents are united in thinking that the time has come to have their islander in the Ministry or CNTB.
Last year’s overall tourist results on Krk island exceeded
Finding free accommodation was very difficult these days on the island of Krk as well. All the capacities were well filled and people were looking for extra beds.
The crowd was felt in all places and all accommodation facilities worked extremely well, from camps, family accommodation to hotels. Currently, more than 60,000 guests are resting on the island of Krk, which is increasingly reminiscent of the year 2019, when record results were achieved.
Together with the achievements in the first seven months, we can already emphasize that by August 15 In 2021, the year-round results in 2020 were exceeded, and in relation to 2019, 85% of that record year was achieved.
Leading destinations are the city of Krk, Baska, Omisalj, Malinska.
Of the emitting markets, the largest number of guests are still from Germany and Slovenia and Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland, and an increasing number of Italians who otherwise prevailed in August on the island of Krk.
