Vis Regatta and Lim Bay Challenge are held this weekend
On Friday, October 15, the waters in front of Split will be whitewashed at the start of the 77th Vis Regatta, which is expected at 09:00.
After it skipped a year, the “Vis Regatta” is once again taking a course towards Vis.
Promising weather conditions
According to the weather forecast, we can expect dry weather and a lot of wind. But there is more great news, this year the best sailors in groups receive a unique sculpture created especially for the Vis regatta by one of the eminent contemporary Croatian sculptors Dalibor Stosic.
The director of the regatta says they do not expect the record 75th Vis Regatta to be repeated in terms of the number of entries, but they believe that this year’s edition will justify all sailing expectations.
The biggest adventure of the Lim Bay Challenge is starting for the weekend
Along with Vis Regatta, begins one of the greatest sea adventures in Vrsar. The Lim Channel adventure is a team race that should bring competitors to the edge of endurance and test dexterity to the last atom of strength.
The Lim Bay Challenge 2021 sports event will take place between 15 and 17 October at the Belvedere Resort, and the rich program of activities for children and adults includes yoga classes for children and adults, cycling, nature walks, races and many other interesting outdoor activities.
On Friday, October 15, the program will include activities that the whole family will be able to enjoy. The youngest will be able to indulge in an organized treasure hunt in a one-kilometre race where they will have to follow the tracks together with a family member and reach the finish line together. Before the race, both parents and children will be able to relax in a yoga class that will prepare them for an easy race through the Istrian nature.
On Sunday, the competitors of the Sunny category will be transported to the starting point by bus to the famous medieval hillfort Dvigrad, within the walls of which the start of the race is planned, while the finish will be the Belvedere resort. This demanding category is a classic hardcore trail race with 800 m ascent and 950 m descent on a 30 km long track.
On the same day, competitors can try in the category Fun & Run (10.3 km with 150 m altitude) which is designed as a recreational race for all who want to spend a day in nature with easy walking and running.
