Croatia Airlines and Jadrolinija cooperation

Croatia Airlines and Jadrolinija set to cooperate

Croatia Airlines, the country’s national airline, and Jadrolinija, soon plan to offer passengers one unique ticket for both air and maritime transportation. Tickets would be valid for trips from European airports to Croatian islands, as stated by both companies. For now, cooperation is going to be based on advertising, and by buying a ticket, passengers would be able to use both Jadrolinija and Croatia Airlines’ services. The main goal of the cooperation is to use Jadrolinija and CA’s advantages and offer locals and tourists a unified service, and therefore make Croatian destinations more accessible.

Both companies’ services are of a seasonal nature and extremely reliable on tourism. Therefore, expanding into new areas is more than welcome for both companies, as well as for Croatian economy and tourism. While signing the contract, the CEO of Croatia Airlines highlighted that new circumstances in which we live have created new challenges on which they have to strategically respond.

“That is why we’ve decided to cooperate with Jadrolinija, Croatia’s leading ferry company, whose fleet is a great complement to ours. CA connects Croatia with the world by air, and Jadrolinija does by sea. Together, we can create new benefits for passengers. We believe that our cooperation will meet its goals, while simultaneously making Croatia a more attractive and approachable destination.”

As for Jadrolinija, it’s CEO stated that the amount of passengers who travel by their ferries and catamarans (which was 12.5 million in 2019), presents a great potential for both companies.
